Fitness: An area of golf that was long overlooked even by the pros. "Flat Bellies", I believe is the term Lee Trevino coined to describe the guys on todays pro tour. Getting in shape will certainly help your golf game if done correctly. You don't however want to rush to the gym and start bulking up those biceps too much! That may help you get the bag in and out of the trunk a little easier, but probably will do more harm than good to your flexibility and golf swing.

To get the most from your game you should work on your flexibility and some specific strength training to add those extra yards off the tee and prevent you from tiring during the round.

Not being a Fitness expert myself, I've compiled what seems to me to be some logical video workouts that most everyone can do. We've got both strength and flexibility exercises here. Look through the videos and pick out 3 or 4 and start there. You'll feel better and the mental boost alone should improve your scores.

Here's the disclaimer: as with any new exercise program, consult your doctor to make sure it is safe for you to do.

Oh, you want to do these about every other day or so. Most of the core training you can do every day if you wanted to. Probably not best to start the day before you're playing golf. If you haven't exercised in a while you may be sore the next day. No pain no gain as they say!

Good luck there slim.
